Cartier hosted the hottest party in Johannesburg at Urbanologi last night to celebrate the return of the iconic Panther watch. I was there with my twin & crime partner Nwabisa (my second name is also Nwabisa). She is always dragging me out of bed for fabulous parties around the city. The global launch party was held in LA back in May this year and last night it was Joburg’s turn to celebrate.
Cartier’s Panthère celebrated its centenarian birthday in 2014, after the great cat was first featured in George Barbier’s 1914 painting Woman with a Panther, commissioned by Louis Cartier. The Maison’s jewellery director Jeanne Toussaint thereafter used the Panthère motif throughout the 20th century in some of Cartier’s most famous historical jewels and objects.
No, I dont own a Cartier (yet) but who I couldn’t say no to a fun night out in such great night weather.
Cartier’s signature bellhops and trays of Champagne welcomed us into Urbanologi, a beautiful space in downtown Joburg that Cartier transformed into the perfect party spot. I felt like I could have been at the Meatpacking District in New York or Chelsea in London.
I had to have me some pistachio ice cream – I love pistachios.
I bumped into my long lost friend and style icon Rene and of course she didn’t disappoint in the fashion stakes.
I have always loved the Cartier brand and owning a Cartier is certainly on my TO DO List
A night of great music, great people and lots of champagne!
